RYSE Youth Action Committee
In September 2021, we assembled two RYSE to Action Committees — one in Drayton Valley and one in Secunda/eMbalenhle — by recruiting young adults interested in helping us share the RYSE results with relevant stakeholders to make a true, tangible impact on their communities.
The two RYSE to Action Committees met monthly for 1 year to gain skills and develop strategies for sharing the results of the RYSE project with key end-users in the community, including the Town Council, oil and gas companies, healthcare providers, and school administrators. The young adults on the committees are working on projects of their choosing to share the RYSE results in meaningful and impactful ways and present relevant information to different audiences within the community. This involves creating infographics, videos, apps, posters, advocacy papers, activities, and presentations that will help the RYSE results make a difference in the community. More information on the specific projects undertaken by the RYSE to Action Committee members will be posted in the next months.
